MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR VEHICLES WITH PROTECTIVE FILM

STC Films offers an 5-year warranty on the SPF01SHG GLOSS, SPF01SHM MATT, and SPF01SHGSUP GLOSS protective film series. The warranty covers yellowing and cracking of the film caused by exposure to ultraviolet rays. With proper care, Protektor Film will not turn dull or lose its shine, and its self-healing properties prevent micro-scratches from remaining on your vehicle’s surface.

NOTE. After applying the film to the vehicle’s painted surface, avoid exposing it to dirt, chemicals, or any other substances for the next 48 hours to prevent damage. The material will fully cure after this period.

Guidelines for Proper Vehicle Washing

Caring for a car with protective film is just as easy as caring for one without it. To keep your film-protected vehicle looking flawless, simply follow these basic maintenance guidelines.

  • Thoroughly rinse the car with a pressure washer, starting from the dirtiest areas - wheel arches, wheels, and body panels.
  • Apply active foam using a foam cannon and a special cleaner with a neutral pH, then rinse it off after a few minutes with the pressure washer.
  • Clean the wheels with brushes and products made specifically for them.
  • For the body, use a wash mitt and the two-bucket method - one bucket with warm water and shampoo, the other with clean water for rinsing the mitt.
  • Rinse the entire car again and dry it using microfiber towels.

AVOID: using automatic car washes, washing your car in direct sunlight, applying natural waxes or ceramic coatings to the film, or using polishing compounds or abrasive materials.

Maintenance instructions:

  • When using a pressure washer, keep the nozzle at least 60 cm (about 24 inches) away from any film-covered parts of the car - high water pressure can cut the film.
  • Avoid spraying directly at the film’s edges to prevent water from seeping underneath and loosening it.
  • Test any strong cleaners on a hidden spot first to ensure they will not damage the film.
  • Clean only with a soft microfiber cloth and products with a neutral pH.
  • Remove contaminants (dirt, bug residue, bird droppings, etc.) immediately - if left too long, they can affect the film’s appearance.

DO NOT USE:

  • solvent-based cleaners,
  • harsh insect residue removers,
  • aggressive degreasers,
  • polishing abrasives.

Polishing machines should only be used at low speeds and with minimal pressure. Before using any device, test it on an inconspicuous area of the bodywork.
